The founders of the Comble Foundation believe that art and design is not created in a vacuum and one of the essential fingerprints of both is the notion of pedagogy and apprenticeship through passed down techniques.

This inclination also applies to the various faces of the arts and being an practising artist at any stage. It is derived in both the physical realm and in the intellectual, business and marketing realms. The continued commercialization/degradation of art, its digital manifestations along with a host of other engagements both positive and negative to the art world and its spheres, we believe, resolutely demands that artistry remains at its core a passed down trait and talent, virtuosity in general stands on the now firm ground saturated by past experimentation, education whether self-taught or academic and ultimately through an artistic legacy.
